The Engagement

Robb & Stucky, founded in Fort Myers, Florida in 1915 and ranked among the top 100 U.S. furniture retailers with peak revenues of $273.7 million, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on February 18, 2011. A U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Tampa approved the sale of the company's assets to liquidators Hudson Capital and Hyperams. Jim Schaye, Hudson Capital CEO, estimated the inventory had a retail value of approximately $90 million at the start of going-out-of-business sales, which commenced immediately across all 20 locations. The retailer operated full-line and patio stores in Florida, Las Vegas, Plano (Texas), and Scottsdale (Arizona).

This engagement was led by Eaton Hudson founder James Schaye through Hudson Capital Partners, the predecessor firm whose institutional track record is now represented under the Eaton Hudson banner.
