Eaton Hudson – National Asset Disposition, Valuation & Capital Advisory Firm
E-Commerce

E-Commerce
Liquidation.

Returns, overstock, and warehouse inventory converted to recovery. We work with online retailers, consumer brands, manufacturers, and the lenders behind them to clear what did not sell and what came back, without putting the brand on a discount shelf.

Discuss a Matter
The Problem

Value Does Not Disappear.
It Accumulates in a Warehouse.

Online retail generates a category of distressed inventory that traditional retail never had at this scale. Returns arrive faster than they can be processed. Cancelled orders re-enter stock in the wrong season. Demand forecasts miss and the overage sits in a leased warehouse accruing cost every month it stays there.

Most of it still has value. What it does not have is a route to market that protects the brand, clears volume quickly, and produces a number the finance team can book. That is the work.

Core Capabilities

What We Do for
E-Commerce Operators.

Returns & Reverse Logistics Disposition

Customer returns that cannot go back to primary channels still have a market. We value them, grade them, and move them through channels chosen so they do not compete with your own storefront.

  • Grading and valuation of returned and open-box merchandise
  • Channel selection matched to condition, category, and brand sensitivity
  • Volume clearance on a defined calendar rather than an open-ended process

Excess & Seasonal Overstock

Overstock costs money every day it occupies space. The question is not whether to clear it but how far the price has to fall, and that answer comes from transaction data rather than a spreadsheet.

  • Recovery modelling against actual secondary-market results
  • Seasonal and end-of-life inventory clearance
  • Disposition planned around warehouse exit dates and carrying cost

Brand-Protective Channel Management

The reason brands hold inventory too long is fear of where it ends up. Channel control is the difference between recovering value and training customers to wait for a markdown.

  • Off-price, secondary market, and B2B channel routing
  • De-branding, repackaging, and geographic restriction where required
  • Disposition structured to avoid primary channel conflict

Warehouse & Fulfilment Asset Disposition

When a facility closes or a 3PL relationship ends, the racking, conveyors, material handling equipment, and IT go with the inventory. We handle both in one engagement.

  • Valuation and sale of racking, conveyors, and material handling equipment
  • Fulfilment centre wind-down and site clearance
  • Coordinated disposition of inventory and fixed assets together
Scope

What We Do
and What We Do Not.

Eaton Hudson is a disposition firm. We are the step at the end of the reverse logistics chain, the point where inventory that cannot return to primary channels has to become cash.

We do not operate returns processing centres, perform refurbishment or repair, or run ongoing third-party logistics. Where those services are needed, they sit upstream of us. What we bring is the valuation and the route to market, backed by more than $2.8 billion in completed inventory and asset dispositions since 1987.

Why This Division Exists

Eaton Hudson has been liquidating retail inventory since 1987, across engagements including Circuit City, Toys "R" Us, JCPenney, and Belk. The assets in an e-commerce wind-down are the same goods in a different building, and the disposition problem is the one we have solved for four decades.

The division is led by Joshua Thompson, Chief Technology Officer, who brings 25 years in enterprise e-commerce, and Skye Westcott, whose 35 years in home furnishings and retail include leadership roles at Coco Republic, HD Buttercup, and Ballard Designs. RMP Partners, our parent, operates affiliated companies across e-commerce, real estate, legal support services, and consumer brands.
