Steve Lerner

Steve Lerner is a real estate attorney turned executive whose 45-year career bridges legal counsel, family-office investment leadership, and public company governance. As Managing Director of Legal Restructuring and Financial Advisory at Eaton Hudson, he brings transactional legal judgment and hands-on operating experience to the firm's most complex fiduciary and restructuring engagements.

Steve began his career at Schlanger Silver Law Firm in Houston in 1977, spending two decades as an associate and then partner representing real estate investors, developers, and financial institutions. In 1998, he joined the Redstone Group family office as Executive Vice President and General Counsel and served as Chief Executive Officer of Redstone Companies Real Estate, overseeing all real estate investment and development activity for the office, including the acquisition and redevelopment of the Houstonian Hotel, Club and Spa campus and a twelve-project Marriott limited-service development program across Texas and the Western United States.

In 2014, Steve became Chief Executive Officer of TRC Capital Partners (formerly The Redstone Companies), the standalone real estate investment and development firm spun off from the family office, leading development or redevelopment of more than two million gross square feet of commercial, mixed-use, and hospitality projects, including the PNC Plaza on Post Oak Boulevard and the InterContinental Hotel at the Houston Medical Center. He has spent more than a decade in public company board service, serving as an original director and Audit Committee Chair of Green Bancorp from its formation through its 2014 IPO, and continuing as Audit Committee Chair of Veritex Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: VBTX) following the 2016 merger, a role he held through Veritex's October 2025 merger with Huntington Bancshares. He was designated a Financial Expert to chair the Audit Committee at both institutions.

Steve currently chairs the City of Houston Uptown Development Authority and Uptown TIRZ #16, and serves as a board and audit committee member of the Uptown Houston Management District. He holds a B.A. in Government with Honors and a J.D. with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin, where he served as an Associate Editor of the Texas Law Review.
